Cheryl Jeanne Harper
March 27, 1953 — January 16, 2014
Born and raised in San Pedro, Cheryl went to be with her parents Mary Lou and Malcolm after a brave battle with melanoma.
She attended Point Fermin Elementary, Dana Jr. High and was a S'70 graduate of San Pedro High School. She was a member of the Emanons youth club.
In 1971 she married the love of her life Richard Harper.
First and foremost she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her house was the gathering place for her children's friends. To many she was like a second Mother.
As her children grew she was active at Eastview Little League, San Pedro Bobby Sox and San Pedro High School Lady Boosters.
She loved baking cookies with her grandsons, attending their sporting events, Hawaii, reading and going to the beach with her girlfriends.
She is survived by her devoted husband Richard, children Michelle (Rich) Quiroz, Tim (Melissa) Harper and Kimberly Harper; her beloved grandsons Jake and Brody Harper and Aiden Quiroz; sisters Kathy (John) Tipich and Susie (Danny) Smith and niece Jennifer Smith. She also leaves step-mother Alice Rasmussen, father in law Jack Harper, sister in law Jackie Esteves, and nephew Rick (Georgine) Esteves and daughters Erin and Kristin.
Services will be held at 10am Friday January 31, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 1292 W. Santa Cruz St. San Pedro 90732.
Burial will be private.
