In Loving Memory of Charles Cannon Ursini, Jr.
May 9, 1953 – December 3, 2024
Charles Cannon Ursini, Jr., a lifelong resident of San Pedro, California, passed away peacefully in the town he loved. Born on May 9, 1953, Chuck was a second-generation longshoreman who carried on his family’s proud waterfront tradition. He also embraced entrepreneurship, owning a cabinet shop and starting a string of video stores in the 1980s.
Chuck had a lifelong love of music, enjoying concerts, listening to his favorite songs, and sightseeing, even while driving. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends in the desert, where some of his happiest memories were made. He also had a penchant for notifying everyone about the newest items or deals at Costco.
Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles and Mary Ursini. His In-Laws who adored him, Lawrence and Theresa Ghio, brothers-in-law: Carl Krueger and Vincent Cross. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Michelle; his loving children, Chuckie and Ashley; his cherished grandchildren, Emilia, Evelyn, Ava, and Ante, who meant the world to him; his brother, Andy and Liz Ursini, and his sister Carol Krueger. He is also survived by his wife’s siblings: Terri and Gianni Santitoro, Andrew and Libby Ghio, Stephanie Cross, Cynthia and Dave Colello, Larry and Terry Ghio, Dario and Annie Ghio, and Ben and Joey Ghio, who were more than just in-laws to him, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to family and friends, Chuck brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.
Please join us to celebrate Mass in his honor at Mary Star of the Sea Church on Wednesday, Dec 11, 2024, at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at Michael’s Tuscany Room beginning at noon.
