Charles Nelson

December 17, 1948 – March 12, 2017 Charles Nelson, a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Sunday, March 12 at the Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, CA. Charles passed peacefully, surrounded by his immediate family and loved ones. He was 68 years old.

Charles was a lifelong resident of San Pedro, CA. As a teenager, he surfed local spots and traveled the world as a Merchant Seaman. He then went on to work for the Southern California Gas Co., providing 40 years of service as a Gas Operations Supervisor.

He was a hardworking man with a big heart who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and older homes in San Pedro, in which he received several awards such as the "Best Home Remodel" in 1990 by the San Pedro Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Services will held at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Viewing will be held on Sunday March 26th from 3:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral will be held on Monday March 27th at 10am.
