Charles Everett “Chuck” Franklin passed at 85 years old on July 8th, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas, from humble beginnings on October 8th, 1938 — a birthday he would come to share with his youngest grandchild.
Chuck navigated life with relentless dedication to his siblings and family. He spent his early life in between an orphanage and family farm. Later, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated his time and studies to helping his nation through aerospace engineering. While receiving a multitude of awards and honors for his work, Chuck never wavered in dedication to his family.
He later retired to Vancouver, Washington, in 2003 to be near his youngest daughter and three grandchildren. Being a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather is a duty he took more seriously than any other bestowed on him. Through his wife, Marsha Franklin, his daughters, Kelly Franklin Small and Michelle Phillips, and his granddaughters, Megann Phillips, Haley Phillips and Ryann Phillips, Chuck’s memory and legacy will live on.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, followed by interment. Directly after services, a celebration of life will be held at the Palacios home: 1333 Mt. Rainier Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275."
