Celia L. Ochoa passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 30, 2012, at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Ochoa. Celia is the beloved mother of 5 children: Carmen Ogden, Celia Webb, Luis Ochoa, Hector Ochoa, and Rose Mary Ochoa; beloved mother-in-law to Roy Ogden, Bob Webb, Sharon Ochoa, Richard Teran (partner of daughter, Rose Mary Ochoa) and grandmother to 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, she immigrated to Los Angeles in 1944 with her husband and 3 of her children, and became a proud U. S. citizen. She made Carson, CA her home for the last 44 years. Celia worked as a supervisor for Star-Kist Foods for over 30 years. She was an active member of several charitable organizations- Fraternal Order of Eagles, Opti-Misses Club, Catholic Daughters and Sts. Peter and Paul Altar Guild. Celia also worked as a volunteer for Kaiser Permanente Hospital. She was a vivacious, compassionate woman with a great sense of humor. In addition to her love for her family, she held a deep reverence and appreciation for nature and animals, where she saw God's handiwork in the simplest acts of nature. Celia imparted these values to her children and grandchildren throughout her life. Celia will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. A memorial mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Wilmington, on Wednesday, April 4 at 11A.M. followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
