Cecilia Ann Pfeiffer-lovingly known as Ce, CeCe, Cecil B, Mom, Pro Walker, and Nana-passed away on Sunday morning, January 15th, 2023, at the age of 77. She was surrounded by her family, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Cecilia Ann Ferreira was born to Kathryn and Anthony Ferreira on August 7th, 1945, in Cranston, Rhode Island. After graduating from Cranston High School, Ce relocated to California where she met and married her husband, Bruce Pfeiffer. She and Bruce moved to Rancho Palos Verdes, CA where they raised four children: Bryan, Dani, Greg, and Kim.
Known for her thoughtfulness, generosity and kindness, Ce often spent her time searching for that special gift, finding reassuring words to place in a card, cooking favorite meals, making quilts, pillowcases, or needlepoint ornaments, or simply listening and providing advice. Ce is fondly remembered for her unique ability to make everyone feel important and special, which resulted in deep, long-lasting friendships, some of 60 years.
An adventurous and courageous spirit, Ce delighted in trying new experiences: traveling, fishing, camping, ziplining, wakeboarding, river rafting, skiing, riding in a Razor, walking in women's marches, and much more. But her dedication and love to and for her family and grandchildren were her greatest and most meaningful adventures-filled with laughter and memory-making.
Ce served as the residential manager for the Palos Verdes Directory, and proudly worked for Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District and Hermosa Valley Schools for nearly 30 years. Ce held a variety of roles including registrar, attendance secretary, and school office manager. However, the role she was most proud of was providing support to the students who needed it the most-providing snacks, a welcoming place to visit, and a listening ear. Her goal was to make each student feel loved, and that they could make it through even the toughest of times.
Ce is survived by Bruce Pfeiffer, her husband of 55 years, daughters Dani Pfeiffer of Issaquah WA and Kim Goll of Aliso Viejo CA, sons Bryan Pfeiffer of Temecula CA and Greg Pfeiffer of Bend OR, sister Mary Jean Frieden, seven grandchildren, and countless extended family members and friends. A rosary and viewing will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hill Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach, followed immediately by a graveside service at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Lung Transplant Foundation, Donate Life, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
