Catherine E. Erven

July 8, 1925 — December 31, 2016

Catherine Erven, beloved wife of Clifford Erven, passed away on December 31, 2016 at age 91. Mrs. Erven took shop class in high school as many of the young men left for the service during World War II. Catherine worked as a civilian employee in the army delivering orders. She participated in investigating another clerical worker who was implicated as a spy for the Italian government.

Catherine was an avid California historian and former president of the local chapter of the Native Daughters of the Golden West. She was responsible for preserving a Wilmington landmark.

Catherine was the former president of the Banning Manor Senior citizens in Wilmington where she led seniors on a variety of tours for over 15 years. She raised orchids and also organized orchid tours.
Mrs. Erven's energy knew no bounds as throughout their 64 year marriage, she and Clifford cared for many dogs, cats, and tortoises who resided in their pet condo.
