Caterina "Cathy" Pena

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and dear friend Caterina "Cathy" Peña (Cracchiolo). Cathy passed away unexpectedly; at the age of 55; on March 28, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cathy was born on August 14, 1961 in Trappeto, Italy to Giuseppe and Vincenza Cracchiolo. Her and her family immigrated from Italy to San Pedro in 1968 when she was just 7 years old. She attended Dana Junior High School and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1979. Cathy worked in customer service for Ship Co. Transport for three years.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Giuseppe Cracchiolo. Cathy is survived by her mother, Vincenza Cracchiolo. Her husband of 21 years Jose A. Peña; her two sons Anthony and Daniel Peña. She is also survived by her two brothers; Pietro (Melody) Cracchiolo, Laura Cracchiolo (sister-in-law) and Giovanni (Rosanna) Cracchiolo. One nephew; Joseph (April) Cracchiolo. Three nieces; Angelina Cracchiolo, Sandra Cracchiolo (goddaughter) and Annalisa Cracchiolo. Four great-nephews; Christian, Corey, Damien and Alonzo (godson). Nicholas Brian Gambino (godson). In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Anthony & Daniel Peña to help for a college fund. Visitation will be held Sunday, 3-8 pm at Green Hills Mortuary. With a funeral service, Monday, April 10 at 11:30 am at the chapel at Green Hills Mortuary.
