Carole Sue Hovda passed away July 12, 2012 at the age of 66. Carole was born April 28, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a longtime resident of Torrance, California. Carole attended Indiana University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and later a Masters Degree from Cal State Dominguez. She also held several licenses over the years one of which was a licensed family marriage therapist (LMFT). Carole had a passion for helping people working at a non-profit agency in Torrance for 17 years as a case manager / licensed family marriage therapist working with families with special needs children. In addition, Carole founded the Holding Place, Inc. a non-profit agency in Torrance where she provided counseling services to individuals, couples and families. She had a passion for music and the arts performing in local choirs, attending plays, musicals, and theater performances. Carole loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Mainard "Mike" Hovda; sons, Bryson D. Arnold, James E. Arnold; step-son, John Hovda; step-daughters, Deborah Hendricks, Barbara Cameron; grandchildren, Joshua Arnold, Jackson Arnold, Cody Lawson, Zayla Arnold, Zaine Arnold, Sydni Klaassen Van Oorschot, Ashley Hovda, David Hendricks, Kaitlyn Cameron, Christopher Cameron and sister Rose Ann Ernst.
