Carol L. Miretti

January 6, 1933 — September 19, 2016

Carol Leota Hamilton Miretti, of Harbor City, passed away Monday September 19, 2016 at the age of 83. Carol was born on January 6, 1933 to Ruth and Wayne Hamilton. She was the youngest of 3 children. Her brothers Wayne and Richard (Dick) preceded her in death.

Carol's childhood was a happy one. She lived in San Pedro and Lomita as a child. She loved spending time with her brothers and Harris cousins. She attended Narbonne High School and there met Domenick Miretti in the 8th Grade. They dated and were later married in 1956. In 1960 Carol became a mother to Sharon. She spent the next 18 years very active in Sharon's life. She was a Girl Scout leader for more than 10 years. She was active in PTA at Harbor City Elementary, Fleming Junior High, Narbonne High, Gateway Council and Los Angeles 10th District PTA. If you add up all the years of PTA service it would be 51 years.

Sadly, Carol became a widow in February of this year after her husband Domenick passed away from cancer. Carol had been in poor health for many years but the passing of her husband and 60-year marriage took its toll after only 7 months of separation. Carol is survived by her daughter Sharon Christiansen, grandchildren Devin and Lauren Christiansen, and her nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park: 27501 Western Ave. Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca. 90275. A viewing will be held from 11-11:30 in the Chapel area and at 12 noon a Committal Service will be held at the graveside on Monday, September 26th.

Carol loved flowers but she loved Los Angeles 10th District PTA and all of the good they did for the children of Los Angeles even more. So in lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to: Los Angeles 10th District 1000 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles.
