Carmen De La Cruz

February 4, 1945 — April 4, 2019

Carmen de la Cruz, a longtime resident of the South Bay area in Harbor City died peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2019; surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Carmen will be forever loved and missed by her surviving children and their spouses; Malissa and Scott Mitchell, Leagia and KC Peck, Manuel and Patricia de la Cruz, Rebecca and Joseph Rosauer, David de la Cruz, Vivian and Cylvinio Cobos. Also her 17 grand-children and their spouses with a total of 18 great- grandchildren, her sisters Elizabeth Hernandez, Maria Vargas and brother Nick Fierro. Carmen will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces nephews and extended families and dear friends.

Carmen was born February 4, 1945 to Trine and Gregorio Fierro in Pecos, Texas. Her and her family then moved to Fresno, California as a young child. She attended Roosevelt high school and graduated in 1964 along side her brother Nick. In the late 1970’s she moved with her 2 daughters to Harbor City, CA. It was there where she met the love of her life Jose de la Cruz and they were married in Reno Nevada on July 3, 1981. They were both longtime residents of the South Bay area in Harbor city. Her love for her family had no limits and she gave to them so very selflessly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Trine and Gregorio Fierro, Husband Jose de la Cruz, daughter-in-law in Law Debbie de la Cruz and nephew Ramon Vargas.

A viewing and memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 4:30 to 8 PM at Green Hills Memorial Chapel 27501 South Western Ave. in Harbor city California. Burial will take place at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., Harbor City, California.
