Candelario Gonzalez

Candelario Gonzalez, 108, passed away on July 27, 2014 at this home in Wilmington, CA. He was born on February 2, 1906 in Tepechitlan, Zacatecas, Mexico. After immigrating to the United States at a young age, Mr. Gonzalez was the epitome of the American dream, for he was a self-made person with a generous heart. He was self-educated, a loving man, a successful businessman, a Master of Angels Gate #198 32(degree) of the Scottish Rite and member of the York Rite, and a friend to all. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his daughters, Helen Saldana, Vida Milla, Eva Miramontes and Estela Gonzalez; son, Hiram Gonzalez; 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 40 great great-grandchildren and 1 great great great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Aida; son, Raul; wife, Cruz; first wife, Beatiz; son, Charlie and grandsons, Raul Gonzalez, Vincente and Mario Medina. The viewing will be held on Monday, August 4th from 5-9 pm at the Green Hills Mortuary Chapel, 27591 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verde, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5th at 10 am at Harbor Christian Center, 1551 N. Wilmington Blvd. Wilmington, CA 90744. The service will also be available online at www.harborchristiancenter . org. Interment will be at Green Hills Memorial Park following the Funeral Service.
