Brian Curtis Hagemeier. Brian passed away peacefully the afternoon of October 29, 2014 at Torrance Memorial Hospital, CA, surrounded by family and friends. He was 52 years old. Brian was born at San Pedro Community Hospital to Bill and Lou Hagemeier. He attended Crestwood Elementary School, Dodson Jr. High School, San Pedro High School and Harbor Jr College, where he received instruction in HVAC technology. Brian worked for 13 years as an air conditioning technician for the Los Angeles Unified School District, and was also a licensed California contractor. One of Brian's proudest professional accomplishments involved his role as general contractor in the construction of his dream home near Point Fermin Park, San Pedro. Brian loved the ocean, surfing, diving and spending time on Catalina Island. Brian also loved music. He was the lead guitarist in two bands, Silver Shadow and Epitaph. Brian collected guitars and enjoyed seeing his son, Cody, learn the piano and amaze family and friends with his rendition of Beethoven. Most of all, Brian loved to laugh. There was never any doubt it was Brian laughing, and his laugh was infectious. When Brian laughed, you could not help but laugh with him. Brian is survived by his son, Cody; his mother Lou; his brother, Bruce; aunts, an uncle, cousins and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Institute.
