Brad Weil was born November 18th, 1977, the youngest of four children, in Carson CA. He attended Broad Ave Elementary, Wilmington Jr. High, and Banning HS – once a Pilot, always a Pilot! He attended Harbor College, then transferred to UC San Diego. He had a passion for theater, and had the opportunity to travel to Europe on multiple occasions, including trips to London and see plays on the West End.
After college, Brad pursued a career in the film industry, both in front of and behind the camera. On one of these shoots he met his future wife, Nikki. They were married the following year, and started the first chapter of their lives together on the other side of the country, at Regent University in Virginia.
He graduated at the beginning of the economic downturn, and they decided to wait it out in Chicago, where he attended DePaul University, obtaining a legal masters in Intellectual Property, and getting to know Nikki’s family better. They moved back to Carson and Brad opened his office a year later, with a focus on bankruptcy.
Brad spent the next 13 years building his practice, expanding to a second location just before the start of the pandemic. Though a struggle, he persevered through the lockdown and was rebuilding his practice. Along the way, he lost his parents, bought a house, and took Nikki on a trip to France for their 10th anniversary.
He joined a CrossFit gym, earned his Level 1 Certification, and began working as an assistant for the kids program. He became a deacon at his church and, along with the other deacons, helped shepherd it through the time they were without a pastor.
Brad became a Gideon, also just before the start of the pandemic. He was soon elected to Vice President of the camp, and more recently, President. He was passionate about distributions, and his self-employed schedule allowed him to participate in a great number of distributions. He even helped coordinate distributions at his Junior High and High Schools, and that Thursday, at Nikki’s school’s high school graduation.
Brad made a lasting impact on his families – the one he was born into and the ones he became a part of. He is survived by his wife, siblings, niece, and nephew. He will be greatly missed.
