Beverly Jean Sanborn was born to Forrest and Stella Smith on May 31, 1932, at Springfield, Ohio. At the age of four she moved with her parents to South Gate California. She was educated in the South Gate public schools, graduating high school in 1950.
While employed as a secretary by the United States Air Force at Dayton, Ohio, she met and married Thomas G. Sanborn of Worden Montana. Later employment was with Ohio State University, Douglas Aircraft Co., and the Hawthorne United Methodist Church of which she and her husband had been members since 1956.
Beverly Sanborn was a dedicated school teacher, a skilled cook and an instinctive mother. She enjoyed camping, reading, travel, the company of her grandchildren and the fellowship of her church friends. She was long active in the United Methodist Women, holding offices at the local church, district and annual conference levels. She had lived with her family at Harbor City California, since 1966.
Beverly Sanborn died at home on August 12, 2015 of cancer. She is survived by her son, Michael Sanborn (Shirleen) of San Pedro, California; her daughter Vicki Parr (Fred) of Corona, California; five grandchildren, Sierra and Hanako Sanborn of San Pedro, and Jonathan, Daniel and Timothy Parr of Corona. A great grandson Jack Parr of Corona.
