Betty Lou Wells, 85 died peacefully on Sunday, March 9th in her home. Betty was born November 30, 1928 in Long Beach, California to parents John and Sarah Warner.
She was a beautiful and talented first class lady. She will be remembered by her oil paintings, hand-made ornate Santas and Christmas decorations, flower gardening, dancing, cooking, and entertaining. She did everything with gusto. She was an avid dancer in her younger years, played tennis, loved water-skiing and snow skiing. She married Gordon just out of high school and they stayed madly in love with each other throughout their lives. She went camping and water skiing with her family and became a travel agent to handle Gordon's travels with the National Football League. They spent many years traveling with their NFL friends and hosting Monday Night Football dinner parties. She won a first class travel contest for six and treated her daughters and sons-in-law to a first class all-expenses-paid two week trip and cruise in Hawaii. Once the travel bug hit it never stopped. Some of the many cruises and trips she took included Greece, Italy, Turkey, Spain, France, Monaco, England, Scotland, Ireland, Tunisia, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St Barts, Virgin Gorda, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Mexico and many, many more. She traveled in style, always first class.
She was a master at shopping and finding fabulous deals on expensive items…. From personal items to home decorating, she had an incredible knack and knew how to put it together. Her home showed it.
She managed her daughter's scout groups, planned and executed neighborhood parties, neighborhood kid fairs, school parties, family parties and NFL parties. She was a master at entertaining in style. She enjoyed and lived a full life and laughed often and easily. From trips from Mexico to Rome, she will never be forgotten for her generosity to her family and friends. There's not a day that goes by that she is not remembered. She was always available to lend an ear and offer advice. She touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving her mark on their heart. She will be missed by all that knew her and met her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Wells. She is survived by her three daughters, Teri Rodeman of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Debbie (Rick) Brand of Philomath, Oregon and Becky (George) Bernard of Fountain Valley, California. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Kristina Case, Robert Brand, Tamera Bernard, Joey Bernard, Laura Bernard, Sarah Walters, Andrew Rodeman, and Mary Patterson. She is survived by four great grandchildren, Mason Brand, Violet Rodeman, Gary Rodeman III, and Leah Case.
She is also preceded in death by her sister Golda Crimp; her twin brothers Bob and Bruce Warner and her parents, John and Sarah Ann Warner. She is survived by her sister Ruth Brightly; her brother Ray Warner and her sister Patti Richards.
Rest in peace, Mom. We love you.
