Betty Pauline was born on December 11, 1927 to Edith and Benjamin Bryant in Glens Run, Ohio. She was the first born of three children. When Betty was 15 years old the family relocated to San Pedro, California. On April 11, 1947 Betty married Paul Gaddis and three children were born to their union: Sharon, Bryan, and Dorian. In 1963 Betty begun working for Vons Market as a cashier. She won several awards during her tenure and retired after 21 years. Betty and Paul were married 62 years at the time of his death.
In 1978 Betty began attending class at the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research founded by Dr. Henry Clifford Kinley. She whole heartedly embraced the true gospel of Yahshua the Messiah and was a member of the Southeast Los Angeles branch. She continued to attend class until her health prevented her from doing so.
Betty cherished her family and she was an avid researcher who diligently sought her physical heritage, going as far as to visit the Hall of Records in Washington D.C. to pull family records. She loved to recite the family history to her children and grandchildren. She particularly loved her role as grandmother to Melissa, Brianna, and Carolina. She was also a constant presence in the lives of her nieces Jacqueline, Nina, Stephanie, and nephew Howard Stafford after the death of their mother, her sister Lucille. She considered them her second set of children.
Betty passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 29, 2019.
She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband, and daughter Sharon. She leaves to cherish her memory: son Bryan, daughter Dorian, granddaughters Melissa Gaddis, Brianna Philippe (Craig), Carolina Eggiman (Martin), great grandsons Dexter Eggiman and Rainier Philippe, Neices Jacqueline Spand,Nina Mitchel, and Stephanie Mathews (Don) nephew Howard Stafford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
