Betty Kay Addis, long time resident of Redondo Beach, CA, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2016. Betty was born in Texas but came to Redondo Beach as a little girl. Betty was the daughter of Bertha Marie Bean (1915 - 2004) and Hiram David Bean (1909 – 1984). Betty was raised on the beaches of Redondo with her brother, Charles David Bean (1938 – 2014). After graduating from Redondo Union High School, Betty got a job at TRW, which became her lifetime career with almost 50 years of service. Betty married Harry Kay and was blessed with a beautiful son, Thomas David Kay. (1956 -1991). Through Tom, the family gained Kelly Doyle Gasset, Rick Gasset and Trey Gasset. Through Betty's amazing experiences, she met life-time friend, Will Carlton who we are proud to call family. Betty married James David Addis (1924 – 2014) and together they spent the last several decades traveling around the world in love with each other. Betty is survived by Patricia Anne Bean (niece), Kelly Anne Martin (niece), MayAnn Bean (sister-in-law), Amaya Gomez (grand-niece), Robert Gomez (grand-nephew) and Javier Gomez (nephew-in-law). Betty, the always-ready planner, lived each day as though it had at least 35 hours in it. But, Betty always had time for others. Betty showed never-ending generosity and love to her family, friends, church and countless charities. Betty gave all of herself for others. Betty lived life to the fullest, was fun and kind. Betty is our hero and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Betty's name to Shared Bread
