Bertha "Bert" Durmanich

Bertha Durmanich passed away peacefully July 4th, at her home in San Pedro with her husband of 55 years, John and their three loving daughters, Pauline Bozanich, Adele Dragovich, and Anette Massey by her side.
She would have celebrated her 82nd birthday on July 17th.Bertha is also survived by her three son-in-laws, Louie Bozanich, Geno Dragovich, and Bill Massey, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her brother, Carlos Hernandez, sister, Alice Saffell, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bertha was born in 1930 in Douglas, Arizona and spent the majority of her life in San Pedro, beginning at Barton Hill Elementary School, which she was a proud alumnus, and ending at San Pedro High School.
Bertha, along with her mother, owned Tarta's Mexican Food Restaurant in San Pedro. She then went on to work for Continental Can Company on Terminal Island. She was an avid bowler on many leagues at Pacific Bowling Alley, and loved regular poker nights with her friends. Bertha and John traveled to many places over the years, but their favorite vacation spots were Mazatlan and Las Vegas where they returned each year for many yearsBertha was a vivacious, fun-loving woman whose husband and family always came first.
