Beatrice Evans was born August 15, 1927 to William and Mary States in Bolton, Mississippi. She was the six child of seven children whom all preceded her in death. When she was 4 years old she moved to Detroit, MI to live with her Uncle Ben and Aunt Beatrice.
In 1945 she met Otis Evans they married on June 2, 1946. They were married 62 years until his passing in 2008. To this union three children were born-Monica, Otis Ricardo, and Deon.
Beatrice worked many jobs. She worked for Security Pacific Bank, Mattel Toys, and the Social Security office. She was active in social justice movements like SEIU and the L.A. Union for Labor Political.
Beatrice loved to cook for her family-we loved her fried corn, sweet potato pies, dressing, and smothered chicken. She loved watching her weekly nighttime show like Dallas and Falcon Crest, and she loved her soap operas. She especially loved her some Tyler Perry and John Travolta.
In her quiet time during the morning, she would read her bible daily before starting her day. She would watch church on T.V. and she would often walk up to St. Albert The Great to attend church. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16.
Beatrice was called home on Monday, June 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis(2008) and son Otis Ricardo(2018). She leaves to cherish her loving memory daughter Monica(Robert), son Deon(Lachon), grandchildren Shanise, Devon, Tomiko(Prince), Jharmel, Janessa-Danyelle(Julian), Deon Jr.m and Devonte, 6 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. One sister-in-law Earnestine Boutte' and one-brother-in-law Finch Evans, Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Beatrice lived a long full life she will be missed.
