Athena Amiridis

On May 12, 1930, in Naousa Imathias, Greece, the lord blessed Sofia and Moses Georgiadis with a beautiful baby girl, Athena. Athena was given five siblings, Philipas, Spiros, Soula, Theodora, and Aristea. At age 18, Athena married her soul-mate, Alexander Amiridis. In 1954, Athena and Alexander along with their three children, Effie, Popi, and Dimitri, moved to Brazil in search of a better life. Five years later, they were blessed with a fourth child, Sofia. After nine years away from their native land, they returned to Greece. In 1973, Athena moved to California to live with her daughter Effie and her first granddaughter, little Athena. Shortly thereafter, her husband and remaining children followed. They all resided in the United States ever since. Throughout the years, she was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Athena loved music and dancing, her laughter filled the room, and her generosity was immeasurable. She loved to cook and feed everyone who walked through her door. She helped countless immigrants find work and shelter, and truly cared about her fellow-man. She was a woman with a heart of gold.

May she enjoy every moment in heaven, in the arms of her deceased loved-ones and in the presence of the lord eternally.
