Armida Krueger passed away peacefully at her home in San Pedro, California, surrounded by her loving family on Friday December 30th, 2022.
Armida was born on February 24th, 1934, in San Pedro, California to her mother Octavia Palacios, and father Guadalupe Barragan Sr.
She attended Barton Hill Elementary School, Dana Middle School, and San Pedro High School.
Armida was Baptized and received her First Communion and Confirmation at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
She was the youngest of three siblings: her brothers Guadalupe Jr aka “Uncle Chops” (Irene), Ross (Rachel) and her sister Estella (Ralph).
Shortly after graduating from San Pedro High School, Armida began working for an insurance company and took the Red Line to Downtown LA.
She and her husband started their family, and she became a stay-at-home Mom.
As the kids started to get older, she went back to work as a cafeteria worker for LAUSD and worked in that position at both Dana Middle School, and San Pedro High School until she retired.
She and her husband, James Krueger raised a loving family of four children: Lawrence (Dorothy), Abel, Richard Jr.” aka Lester,” and their youngest Lisa (Pat).
Armida will forever be remembered for her wonderful cooking “famous chicken tacos” and baking, her love for travel, and spending time with her children and her grandchildren was always a top priority.
Armida was predeceased by her brother Ross Barragan and her son Lawrence Guy Widner.
She is survived by her husband James Krueger, her three children Abel Widner, Lester Widner, and Lisa Krueger, and her three grandchildren Gabrielle Widner, Amelia Harrison and Wyatt Harrison.
