Arline was born to Raul Flores and Elisa Madrid Flores in San Pedro, California.
She is survived by her “one and only” daughter Angelina De La Cruz-De Santiago, son-in-law Alejandro De Santiago, granddaughter Audriana, grandson Alejandro ll and many other Madrid and Flores family members, including her brother Larry Flores and sister Cindy Flores.
A true San Pedran, she attended Barton Hill, 7th Street Elementary, Dana Jr. High and San Pedro H.S. She then received her AA degree from Harbor College. Arline proudly served our community by tutoring and teaching English as a second language, among other volunteer work. She worked at La Clinica as a youth counselor, Joint Efforts Nonprofit Organization, the US Postal Service on Beacon Street and in 1987 she started as a causal for ILWU and ultimately became a full-time longshoreman, where she then retired. Arline loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her prized possessions were her daughter, her grandkids, her son-in-law and of course her little sidekick Chihuahua “Pork Chop”.
She enjoyed listening to Sunday oldies, swimming and collecting antiques. Most of all she loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Arline was very proud of her heritage.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts. She will be heavily missed.
Services will be held on Tuesday - October 3rd at 2 PM at Green Hills Memorial Park
