Antony "Tiger" Podue, beloved father, grandfather, and devoted husband was born on December 15, 1936, in San Pedro, California. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 7, 2024, at the age of eighty-seven, at his daughter's home in Signal Hill, California.
Tiger was-the youngest son of Anton and Domina Podue, who immigrated from the picturesque island of Komiza, Croatia. He father was a fisherman in San Pedro, known for his boat, the Johnny Boy. Tiger was the youngest sibling, preceded in death by his older brother Nick, and is survived by his brother Germ, who is now 91 years old.
A dedicated family man, Tiger adored his beloved wife, Margaret, who sadly passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic. Tiger is survived by his daughter, ToniAnn and her husband, Brian "Whitey" Griswold, along with their two sons, Ryne, and Tayler. His oldest son, Mike, and his wife Nancy, have two children, Robert and Sydney along with Mike's older children, Erin, Shannon, and Kevin. His youngest son, Tim, and his wife, Kel y, are parents to Jayson and Kaitlyn. Tiger is also survived by his grandchildren, Kiley, Jason and Jordan.
Tiger and his brothers were all well-respected Marine Clerks on the waterfront, known for their work ethic and camaraderie. He was known for his sharp wit and playful sense of humor, which endeared him to many. An avid painter, he expressed his creativity through acrylics, capturing vibrancy in his paintings with his unique style.
In addition to his artistic talents, Tiger was an enthusiastic baseball player and fan, with the Los Angeles Angels being his favorite team. His spirit and love for the game were evident from the numerous teams he coached throughout his life, allowing him to share his love of the game with others.
Tiger leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Antony "Tiger" Podue will be remembered for his generosity, devotion to family, his vibrant spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.
