Antonin Franck
Antonin "Tony" Franck passed away June 17, 2012 at the age of 96. A 58-year resident of Redondo Beach, California, Tony was born November 8, 1915 in St. Agatha, Maine. His family then moved to Skowhegan, Maine.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1941–1945 in the battles and campaigns at Guadalcanal, Northern Solomons, Luzon and New Guinea.
Tony married Theresa Martel of Kittery, Maine in 1946. He served a machinist apprenticeship at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before moving to California in 1953, where he worked at Douglas Aircraft for eight years, followed by 30 years at Fansteel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Theresa; three sons: Bob (Josette) Franck of Escondido, Tom (Pat) Franck of Thousand Oaks and Ed Franck of Torrance; three daughters: Denise (Ray) Patchett of Carlsbad, Priscilla (Matt) Peters of Yorba Linda and Cindy (Brad) Camarata of Yorba Linda; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Angela Dionne of Skowhegan, Maine.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 320 Massey Street, Hermosa Beach, on Monday, June 25 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Providence TrinityCare Hospice Foundation, 2601 Airport Drive #230 Torrance, CA 90505
