Anthony Amalfitano Jr.

Antonio Amalfitano Jr. passed away March 6th, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on January 4th, 1947 to Antonio Sr. and Fermina in San Pedro, CA., and was the youngest of four children. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Nick. He is survived by his eldest brother, Jerry, sister Francis (Larry) Allen, wife of 58 years, Carol, and three children, Mariea (Vince) Mattera, Tony (Christy) Amalfitano and Jeannette (Eddie) Amal-fitano-Galvan. Ten grandchildren and ten great-grand-children carry on his legacy. At age 13, Anthony started his lifelong journey of baking at Ramona Bakery, that lead to a passion for the craft, eventually leading to partial ownership in 1973. This blossomed into obtaining ownership with his brother-in-law Larry Allen. Retirement came and went when he decided to open Amalfitano Bakery in 2010, which gave a decade of continuing his passion. Not a day goes by that residents of San Pedro and beyond do not miss his contributions to the community. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 17th at Green Hills Memorial Park, 4:30PM - 8:30PM. Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 18th at Mary Star of the Sea Church at 12PM, with interment to follow.
