Anthony "Tony" Iacono, a lifelong resident of San Pedro, passed away peacefully in the company of his family. Known as a kind and gentle man, Tony had many friends and lived his life helping others. The son of Ciro and Lucia Iacono, Tony was the youngest of four children including John, Carmela and Lucille Iacono. As a teenager, Tony supported his parents and family working as a fisherman until he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, serving as the Lighthouse Keeper in Point Bonita, CA. Upon discharge, Tony began a career with Marine Hardware and was employed for over forty years. Tony had two sons, Gerald and John, with his first wife Phyllis and was married to her until her passing in 1989. Tony enjoyed 20 wonderful years with his second wife Mary. Tony's surviving family members include his wife Mary, children Gerald (Deanne), John (Roni), stepsons Jim, John, Sean and Mike, five grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Philip, Claire, Olivia and 15 step grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled at Green Hills Mortuary on Tuesday, October 7th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass is scheduled Wednesday, October 8th, at 10:00 A. M. at Holy Trinity Parish, 1292 W Santa Cruz St San Pedro, CA. Private burial will be conducted immediately following.
