Anthony V. Calise

Anthony Calise passed away on August 25, 2022. He was born in New York City, New York on November 2, 1927 to Joseph and Loretta Calise. He had three older siblings. Frank, Joseph, and Lucy. He was drafted in 1946 U.S. Army in WWII. He again was drafted in 1951 USMC until 1953.On the way of being deployed to South Korea, he met his future wife, Rita Pilato. They wed, on April 25, 1953 after returning from Korea. He became a barber for 20 years and worked for Torrance United School District for another 18 years. After retiring he and his wife joined the Peck Park Seniors, in which he served two years as president. Anthony is preceded in death by his loving wife Rita of 66 years, his sons Joseph and Anthony Calise, and his daughter in law Margie Calise. He is survived by his son Sal Calise, his daughters Loretta Vuoso, Mary (Michael) Kucura, his grandchildren Andrea Calise, Nicole (Phil) Trani, Brittany, Bailey, and Mikey Kucura. A funeral Mass will be held at Mary Star on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at 10:00AM. Services will be officant by Monsignor Joseph Calise from New York; Anthony's nephew.
