Anne Valerie Wolinsky, was born February 5, 1928, on a farm in Ontario, Canada, later USA citizen. She passed away peacefully in her home on April 24, 2019, in Torrance, California, USA.
She was the daughter of a long line of French Canadians, dating back to the 1600’s. She was one of fifteen children. She loved a family lifestyle. She loved shopping, cooking, socializing, volunteering, playing cards and assembling puzzles. She practiced Roman Catholic religion her entire life.
From girlhood through adulthood, she succeeded in her academic studies. She was fluent in both English and French. From grades one through twelve, she trudged through heavy snow and crossed muddy fields. At 21 years old, she moved to the city of Windsor where she received a vocational degree in Business, specializing in Accounting.
She met a handsome, well-dressed Catholic man in Windsor; he would become the love of her life for 64 years in marriage. Her family was everything to her and she would do whatever it took to help her children and grandchildren with whatever her they needed. She had a critical mind and budgeted her household’s finances through some lean years she and her husband experienced in California. She offered each family member and friend a chance to laugh and smile. She believed in being a devoted Catholic wife and raised her family with love, sacrifice and a giving heart.
Throughout her life she worked in the accounting departments of major companies, starting at Chrysler/(Daimler AG), Armco National Steel Supply and Douglas Furniture. She served on committees along the way, including: Nativity School PTA, Nativity Church Altar Society, Armco Social Committee and Little Company of Mary Hospital Volunteer Association.
Anne is survived by her children Deborah Wolinsky Reynoso (Ron) Redondo Beach, CA, Mark Wolinsky (Linda) Santa Cruz, CA and Colette Dunn-Kottke (Karl) Lomita, CA. She is also survived by one brother, Paul Thibert, Tilbury, Canada, and by her grandchildren: Jeff Moreno, Nicole Reynoso, Cassandra Dunn and Joseph Wolinsky, as well as her great-grandchildren: Corinne, Elianna and Amelia.
