Anne "Nancy" Rodin

Anne "Nancy" Rodin passed away, Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Anne was born June 30, 1928 in Pleasantville, New Jersey to Charles J. Hutton and Mary Ellen Meahan Hutton. She attended Sisters of Notre Dame High School in Moyland, PA and the University of Pennsylvania, followed by nursing training at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, Lansdowne, PA, graduating in 1949. Her career as a surgical nurse lasted over 40 years, with 38 years of dedicated service at San Pedro Peninsula-Little Company of Mary Hospital. Anne met Jerry F. Rodin at a Mary Star CYO gathering in San Pedro, and they married in 1953 at St. Louis Parish Church in Yeadon, PA. Nancy and Jerry were married for 59 years, residing in San Pedro, CA. Upon retirement she continued participation in the medical field as a Discharge Planner for home health care at St. Francis MLK Hospital, Lynwood, CA finally ending her commitment to community service in 1994. Nancy was a tireless participant in community activities including President of the San Pedro Emblem Club 451, President of the AORN Association of Operating Room Nurses, volunteer docent for the San Pedro Maritime Museum, member of the San Pedro Bay Historical Society, contributing member of the Cabrillo Beach Marine Aquarium, and ABWA American Business Women's Association, Business woman of the year. Nancy loved to travel with her husband throughout Europe, South America, and the United States, but never making it to her beloved Ireland. But, she will always be a Notre Dame Golden Domer at heart. She is survived by her husband Jerry, daughter Loretta, son Jerry C. (Diane) Rodin, granddaughter Allison Rodin, great grandson Jason, and numerous relatives throughout California, Pennsylvania, and the Eastern United States. A devout Catholic Nancy loved her family, who will miss her dearly. "A heart that touches the lives of many will live forever". Visitation will be held at Green Hills Mortuary, 27501 Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 1226 W. Santa Cruz Street, San Pedro, on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with internment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
