Anne Mary Pekich, 90 died November 28, 2012 in Costa Mesa, California. Anne was born on August 6, 1922 in San Pedro, California where she spent most of her life. She was a survivor of The Great Depression and left school to work in the canneries to help her family. She met and married her husband Alfred and raised their daughter, Sandra in San Pedro. Ann was a fierce protector of her family and made it her life's work to insure their health and happiness. With a generous spirit Anne provided a warm welcom and full stomach to all who came for a visit. She enjoyed her garden, playing cards with friends and trips to the local Indian casinos. Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Pekich in 1996 in 1996; Anne is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Calafato and son-in-law, Joseph, her granddaughters, Deanna Sais, Andrea Howard, and their husbands Robert and Gregory as well as her 2 great granddaughters, Amanda Littlejohn and Nicole Sais. Anne's siblings Gerry Lockrow, Helen Biro and Andy Jurun, their spouses Emerson, Steve and Frances and her many nieces, nephews and friends also mourn the passing of their rock. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
