Anna M. Rankin, the daughter of George and Helen Miller, passed away on August 30, 2015 at the age of 78. She was born on April 16, 1937 and was a longtime resident of Carson, California. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Rankin, daughters, Nancy (Rene) Rankin-Griffin, Theresa (Jim) Jordan, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 12pm - 5pm at Green Hills Mortuary, followed by a vigil from 6pm - 8pm (Rosary begins at 7pm) at Green Hills Memorial Chapel. Funeral mass will held at 10am, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Carson, California followed by interment and reception.
LETTER FROM HER HUSBAND, ROBERT:
June 11, 1961, The good Lord brought this amazing beautiful lady into my life. Anna Mary was the most beautiful lady I had ever seen. I found her to be smart as well as the most compassionate person I had ever met. Within three weeks, I was completely smitten and on July 4th I asked her to marry me. Anna said yes. We were married December 16, 1961. From Anna, I learned so much about life, love, responsibility and caring. Her love was incredible. I knew that God had given me the most wonderful gift imaginable. Her love.
We had 2 fantastic daughters, Nancy (Rene) and Theresa (Jim), 5 extraordinary grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jeannine, Sarah, Damien and Mark followed by 4 Great grandchildren, Jhadin, Amari, Tianna and Dylan. Her love for all of us made all of us understand that the greatest gift a person can give is to care for and help each other.
We were married over 53 beautiful years. With her I felt I could do anything. Anna was my best friend.
August 30 2015, Our Lord decided to take Anna home. I was shaken and never felt so much pain. Then I figured, Heaven must need her love and we need to celebrate her life and the gifts all of us received and it was time for us to help others like we were helped. Anna left a wonderful legacy of love.
