Ann Rosenberg

April 30, 1924 — April 15, 2017

The Rosenberg Family sadly announces the passing of their Mom, Ann Rosenberg. Born into an immigrant family in Chicago, Mom began her life as Anna Dishkin. The middle of three sisters, the family moved west to Boyle Heights in 1925. A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1942, Mom married our Dad soon after graduation and together they had four children. Los Angeles residents nearly all their early lives, Mom and Dad eventually moved their growing family to Torrance in 1950. Working tirelessly to help support and raise their children, Mom worked for many years as a teller with Bank of America, and later as a classified ad writer for the Daily Breeze. Mom leaves behind her children, Fred, Marc (Sherry), Eric (Michelle), Phyliss (Jim); and her sisters, Sylvia Sheftel and Jean Kay. She also leaves behind her former daughter-in-law, Lilli Rosenberg. Mom was Bubbie to seven grandchildren, Josh (Sarah), Shayna (Adrian), Solomon (Misty), Colin, Isaac, Agustin, and Rachel; and to six great-grandchildren, Isobel, Sora, Jack, Jayden, and twins, Gideon, and Romy. Mom also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Sid. Toward the end of her life, Mom contended with a vicious and unrelenting illness. The brave and determined woman she was, Mom rallied after every hospital admission. The family wishes to express their appreciation for Mom's long-time caregivers, Jane Inoke, Mercy Flores, and Cathy Bulasa, and for the first responders from Station 4 of the Torrance Fire Department.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in Green Hills Memorial Park.
