Alicia Z. Pena

January 21, 1921 — November 7, 2015

Alicia (Alice) Z. Peña passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Alicia was born in El Paso, Texas to Juan and Maria Zamarripa. She is a graduate of Banning High School. During the war she worked at McDonnell Douglas as a riveter, the riveters were known as "Rosie the Riveter". She married John H. Peña December 6, 1942. Alicia was a successful business owner of Peña's Delicatessen for 32 years. Then she became a L.A. county employee in which she retired after 17 years in 1992. She was a member of several clubs and organizations such as Women Business Association, Women Auxiliary, Sunshine Club, and Red Hatters. Alicia is survived by her loving daughters Rosemarie Peña Botello and Anna (Armand) Peña Kerechuk; grandchildren, Natalie (Rodney) Botello Rodriguez, Alexandria Kerechuk, and Nicholas Kerechuk; great grandchildren, Nathan Rodriguez, and sister, Dora Salas. Those who knew her will miss her advice and her love for a good party. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00am at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes.
