Alice Louise Yancey

Alice “Louise” Yancey passed away on June 22, 2023 in Santa Rosa, California.
Louise was born on September 17th, 1929 in Lomita, California to Jesse Lamont Peterson and Annie Peterson. As a young woman she was also known as Babe. She graduated from Torrance High School in 1947 and was married to Donald Robert “Bob” Yancey on February 1st, 1950. Bob and Louise were happily married for 51 years before Bob’s death on July 4th, 2001. Louise lived most of her life in Torrance, California, and moved to Santa Rosa in 2009.

Louise was an avid artist and loved to create. She painted, did woodworking, knitted and quilted. She loved to travel, spend time with her family, and serve others. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a Relief Society President for many years and served a full time mission at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.

Louise is predeceased by her parents, her husband Bob, and her four siblings Norm, Ralph, Shirley, and Dick. She is survived by her four children Martha Edmundson, Mary Moore, Rob Yancey, and Pat Yancey, as well as 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held July 21, 11:30 at Green Hills.
