Alfredo V. Franco, Sr.

Alfredo Franco Sr., died peacefully on December 24, 2022, at the age of 91.

Alfredo was known to many as Fred but his younger siblings, nieces, and nephews fondly call him “Diko.” Diko was delivered from a Chinese word that means older brother. He was born on January 13, 1931, to Pio Franco and Geronima Viray of Pampanga, Philippines.

He met his wife, Ma. Carmen Gotiangco at San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. Fred and Carmen got married in 1948. Their union blessed them with four wonderful children; Rebecca, Jun, Arthur, and Susan.
Fred worked for the National Food Authority in the Philippines for many years. After retirement, he and his wife started their second careers and moved to Carson, California in the mid-80s.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Ruben, Benjamin, and Marjorie, and his son Arthur. He leaves behind his wife of 74 years, Carmen; their children Rebecca, Jun, and Susan; their daughters-in-law, Lily and Winnie; son-in-law, Rudy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
