Alfonso (Al) Ocampo, a long time resident of Rancho Dominguez, CA passed away peacefully on July 1, 2015 at the age of 93. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 4, 1921 to Alfonso Sr., and Jennie Ocampo. Al graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles in 1941. He retired from the Torrance Unified School District in 1983 after 17 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mary, after 39 years of marriage, his two sons, Raymond (Gail) and Richard, step children; Mark (Joan), Nancie (Rick), Robert; niece , Dianne Pales and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al enjoyed jazz and big band music, car racing, Pacific Electric cars and politics. He was a member of the Masonic Torrance University Lodge and Al Malaikah Shrine Temple. He and his wife enjoyed traveling on several cruises and attending jazz festivals. Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park in RPV on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Visitation 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Cryptside services to follow at 2:00 p.m. All who knew Al will always remember his warm smile and caring nature. He will be greatly missed! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al's name to the Shriner's Hospital for Children , 3160 Geneva St., Los Angeles, CA 90020.
