With profound sadness we announce the passing of Alfonso Garibay, our loving and devoted, Husband, Father, Brother and Friend to all whose lives he touched, on October 13th, 2020.
Born in Mexico, on March 3rd, 1952 to his late Mother Magdalena Avila and Father Jesus Garibay. Alfonso was the 4th child out of 8. He had 4 children of his own.
Even though he was with us 68 years he fulfilled 1,000 years of life. Alfonso attacked life; he grabbed it by the cuernos, kissed it, and swung it back onto the dance floor all the while laughing.
His acute awareness of the importance of life was to cherish the ones you love over any material possession(even though he had a lot of possessions bordering on hording! HaHa!) He was only handicapped by his territorial attachment to the remote control to his Big Screen TV, Lucha’s, Funny’s, murder mysteries, and his recliner (which Cayamby Aka: his grandson Adrian kept fighting over).
Of all the people he touched, both directly and indirectly, his most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife Teresa Garibay who had supported him in all his glory, wit and canas. She supported him physically, emotionally, and mentally throughout their marriage. Alfonso gave everything he could to credit his wife for his achievements.
Alfonso took pride in his many hobbies and accomplishments. Being the greatest Puzzle Master, DJ, salesman, an outside the box thinker, Joker, and weirdest yet funniest critic, he was a jack of all trades, that continued to astound everyone with his talents. His dream, which he was chasing was to get his locksmith business booming. Everyone he had encountered in any of his businesses, were ever so grateful of his hard work. They would never leave without a smile, laughter and on top of all that he was undercharging almost everyone he met!
He had a deep Love of Music, Butterfly’s, Clown’s (he was a great Joker), Magic, but he particularly loved Dragon’s. He always loved to boast about how he was born in the Year of the Dragon.
We will always miss him and continue to carry on his many sayings and jokes.
We Love you Alfonso!
Family and friends of Alfonso are invited to share their favorite photos, video memories and heart felt messages on his Tribute page on the Green Hills Mortuary Website.
