Albert Marchin

December 16, 1937 — October 10, 2021

Albert John Marchin passed peacefully at home on October 10, 2021 with his son and daughter by his side. He was born December 16, 1937 in San Pedro and graduated from San Pedro High School (Class of Winter 1956). He graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1962 and was Director of Optometry for FHP Healthcare, Talbert Medical Group, and later in his career was part owner of Atlantis Eyecare. He was born and raised in San Pedro but relocated to Orange County during his working years. He is preceded in death by his parents Trifun and Anka Marchin. He is survived by his son Jeffrey T. Marchin, daughter Lynn M. Bittle and granddaughter Hannah; sister Elvy Jerkovich of San Pedro, niece Linda Jerkovich, nephew Thomas (Susan) Jerkovich Jr.; great nieces Ginger Anderson, Tami Hebert, Brigitte (Mario) Medina, Britt (Steven) Myers; great nephew Thomas (Sheena) Jerkovich; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; cousin Vinka (Sime) Hrboka; and many friends and colleagues.

He loved college football, especially USC. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughter Hannah. He loved all his friends and extended family, and grew very attached to his rescue dog Ferris and the family cats. He enjoyed taking walks in his neighborhood, chatting with neighbors and meeting all the neighborhood dogs. He was a lifelong member of the Dalmatian American Club and San Pedro Elks Lodge. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
