Albert Nunez Jana, Sr.

Albert Jana was 89 years old when he passed away on Dec 30, 2011. He was born Nov 21, 1922 in the Philippines to Ramon and Petra Jana. A third generation military soldier, he served in the U.S. Army for over 30 years. Prior to joining the U.S. Army, he was in the Philippine Scouts. He escaped the Bataan Death March during WWII. Albert served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He served his country proudly. He was an active member of local VFW, DAV, Illocaneses, and Knights of Columbus. Albert devoted his time to assisting Veterans and their families.
Albert is survived by his children, Christine, Josephine, Albert, Jr., Raymond, and Brian; grandchildren, Alexander, Melani, Amber, and Anthony; and great-grandchildren, Makoa and Keanu.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Asuncion Gutierrez Jana.
Funeral services will be conducted at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes on Jan 6, 2012 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm for viewing. Mass will be held on Jan 7, 2012 at Mary Star of the Sea – 10:30 am with interment to follow at Green Hills.
