Ahmad Reza Zamany, fondly known as Hamied to his family, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the age of 61.
Ahmad was born March 29, 1958 in Tehran, Iran. He moved to the United States in 1979 to attend University, and shortly thereafter met his future wife, Deborah. He worked as an aeronautical engineer, which took him to many parts of the world, including Brazil, New York, and Panama. His most recent position was as Vice President of Technical Operations at Copa Airlines. He was involved in many charities, and organized a yearly golf tournament to benefit different causes in Panama. He was an avid golfer, soccer player, and fisherman.
He is survived by his mother Akram; wife Deborah; son Pasha; daughter Alieh; son-in-law Dustin; sisters Giti, Soodi, and Mandana; nephews Pejman, Sasha, Parshan, and Dahrian; nieces Mojgan, Mehrak, Moshgnaz, Moshgnak; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Ali; and sister Manijeh.
He is loved and respected by his family and many friends, and he will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at 4pm, Friday, November 22, at the Green Hills Mortuary. A celebration of life will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 23, at Avenue Italy in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
