Agustin Diaz

Doctor Agustin Diaz, 86, of Rolling Hills Estates, California, passed away on January 2, 2023. Agustin was the oldest son of Emilio Díaz and María Teresa Zubieta and was born in Madrid, Spain. He won a scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and went on to complete his Masters at Duke University and his Doctor in Philosophy in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Maryland.

He spent his career of 25 years at General Electric in the international engineering & construction division. He then worked at International Technologies, creating their international division, and retired in Rolling Hills Estates. He enjoyed traveling, a wide variety of music, international cuisine and loved his growing family.

Agustin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beth Lee, his brother, José Luís, and his three sons. Walter, Michael and Anthony along with 7 grandchildren: Leanne, Lauren, Walter, Teri, Kelly, Benjamin, and Katherine, and 5 great-grandchildren: Ava, Noelle, Scarlett, Adelyn and Sadie.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Dr. Agustin Diaz.
